NitroSell CEO Charles Garvey to Speak at World-Class ICT ConferencePosted 21st Nov, 2007
Charles Garvey will cover the topic Commercialising Innovation, while Tony Murphy of Gartner will talk on Innovation Management: Your New Core Competency. Today, products and services of all types - encyclopaedias, jetliners, operating systems, mutual funds, and many other items are being created by teams numbering in the thousands or even millions. While some companies fear the heaving growth of these massive online communities, our keynote speaker Anthony Williams will be explaining how to prosper in a world where new communications technologies are democratising the creation of value. We are extremely proud to announce that the internationally known conference speaker Anthony Williams, co-author of the best-selling business book of the year Wikinomics, will be presenting the keynote presentation at the conference. His book is all about how mass collaboration is quite literally a key impetus in changing everything.
Neil Halloway, Vice President, Business Strategy, Microsoft International (click here for bio), will look specifically at recent trends in software innovation, including their latest initiative "Software plus Services", while Graham Whitehead, renowned Futurologist with BT UK will address the question "Why Innovate?". His answer is simple - either innovate or die! Prof. Hans Rosling, Professor of International Health with the Karolinska Institutet in Sweden, will explore the link between innovation and world economic development. David Hemler, President, Best Buy for Business from the USA will examine a selection of real-world case studies and tell how his company harnessed the collective wisdom and experience of his company's 140,000 employees by using the latest mass-collaboration techniques. Jennifer Mowat, Director, BT Business Online in the UK, will build on these social networking and mass-collaboration ideas, discussing how Web 2.0 represents both an opportunity and a dilemma. The conference is being sponsored by a select group of major companies, including the following world-class global players:

Every year, the it@cork annual conference gains an ever-higher reputation. This is the best line of speakers we've ever put together. Anyone who wants to understand the major forces revolutionising business today can't afford to miss attending this conference. In addition, Ireland is at the centre of the global software business. People are shocked when they hear that the total value of Irish software exports exceeds that of the United States. The reason for this is simple - all the major players have located their European and/or global headquarters in Ireland (Microsoft, Google, Oracle, etc.). In total, there are over 1,500 global companies operating from Ireland. This economic success story has been going on for the last 20 years, and operating and networking in Ireland is a prerequisite to being a global player in a host of sectors, but most importantly in ICT.
