From the perspective of the NitroSell board, it was a day for saying thank you to the team.

Also, the most important person in NitroSell was introduced – the new CEO Charles Garvey. Charles hardly needs an introduction, suffice it to say that in his previous position of CEO (of Horizon), he took the company from a staff of seven to 700 and floated it on the London Stock Exchange. Charles Garvey, newly appointed NitroSell CEO, made a short speech:

'In mid 2005, NitroSell was a dream created by Jerry and Tom. Today less than 2 years later, NitroSell web enabled over 500 retail business, and these numbers are growing every month. As well as a host of general retailers, NitroSell customers include Sony, the US Navy, the US National Parks Service. In March 2007, almost 900,000 people had accounts with NitroSell retailers. There were over 700,000 unique visitors to NitroSell web-stores, and these stores offered over 300,000 products for sale. Based on this opportunity, NitroSell has been able to raise $4m from investors.'

Micheál Martin T.D., Irish Government Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment then made a speech and formally declared the NitroSell offices open:

'It gives me great pleasure to be here today, in Cork especially, to open NitroSell’s European Headquarters. This company’s stated goal is to become a major player in the global Internet business, and today is a time to celebrate with NitroSell an early, but important milestone on this journey.
