USPS Shipping Method Update

NitroSell 21 March 2013 • Features

The WebStore Manager has been updated, providing a range of new options for users wishing to send their goods from the United States.

International shipping services provided by USPS are now available as part of your integrated shipping configuration. By choosing USPS (International) as a shipping carrier in the Shipping and Taxes section of your WebStore Manager, you can offer your customers new delivery choices, including USPS’s Global Express and Priority Mail International services.

USPS has also recently rolled out a number of changes to its shipping services. Two of the shipping services provided by USPS have been renamed:

  • For domestic shipping, Parcel Post has been renamed Standard Post.
  • First-Class Mail International Parcel has been renamed First-Class Package International Service.

Aside from the names, these services have not changed — users can continue to work with their existing shipping configurations. For users who are adding or configuring shipping integration with USPS, note that the names of the shipping services have been revised.

I am not sure if I am the first to notice this, but on our companies website manager we are not given an integration carrier option of USPS International. It would be nice for Nitrosell to clairify who is allowed to access this option or even explain why not all users are allowed to use this seemingly useful API… By now, I would have assumed that USPS international shipments would have already been implemented. Sadly, I am wrong and have come to an even more disapointed conclusion when Nitrosell decides to release a blog post announcing there prestigious update and failing to deliver what they advertise….. I would appreciate some means of contact to explain to Midwest Workwear why we can not use USPS as a shipment option for interntional shipments!

    • Hi Chad,

I failed to mention in the post that the new features are currently only available as part of the beta channel. When beta features have been tested in the real world and we’re happy with them then they’re released to all customers.

Customers can choose to become part of the beta channel, understanding that being part of the cutting edge can sometimes be risky.

      Thanks for pointing this out.
